AMAKA IGWE, NIGERIAN VETERAN PRODUCER ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF QTV

Q, Nigeria’s latest entertainment channel is set to commence airing on DStv. The new channel is set to provide viewers with exciting movies, thrilling dramas, inspiring documentaries, general interest programmes and much more.

Founded by multi-award winning hit filmmaker, producer and director, Amaka Igwe, Q is the first of its kind in the country and is positioned to be viewers’ one stop choice for original, exciting and entertaining television content.

In a statement issued in Lagos, today, the entertainment maven explained that the new channel was a life-long dream of hers nurtured by her deep passion for the Nigerian entertainment industry.

“Q has been a long time coming. In my over 22 years of working with television, I have felt an enormous need for a platform that can adequately explore Nigeria’s enormous television potentials, one where content producers can truly call home”, she added.

“Q is primarily a series channel which presents programmes in a serial format. All programmes on this channel will be in multiples, connected or in a stand alone format, spanning several weeks, a quarter, multiple quarters or a year and beyond.”

She further disclosed that "Q" will have over 80% of original Nigerian content.

“This channel is actually historic in many ways, chief of which is the fact that this is the first time a reputable production company will be setting up a platform primarily for exhibition of productions. Most people who have started television channels in this country have often been technical or business oriented individuals, not experienced content producers.”

“Well Q intends to fill that vacuum. For me, Q makes me feel doubly blessed. Not only do I get to entertain Nigerians -something I’m very passionate about- I also get to fulfil a life-long debt: that of providing the very best of entertainment. I’m grateful that Q gives me the opportunity to pay that debt in full.”

Q is owned by Q E-Networks Nigeria Ltd.

Amaka Igwe studied Education and Religious Studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University and is the C.E.O of Amaka Igwe Studios. She is also the brain behind the BOBTV (Best Of the Best TV), a yearly business and exchange platform for African content makers and content of African origin which holds in Abuja, Nigeria. Some of her outstanding works include Violated, Rattlesnake, Checkmate, Fuji’s House of Commotion and A Barber’s Wisdom among many others.

LEARN HOW TO COMPLETELY HIDE VIDEO/AUDIO FILES IN NOKIA PHONES

Although many people know how to hide files (videos and songs especially) on their mobile phones with the help of "BlueFTP", they still wonder why those same "hidden" files still show in the "Music" Menu of their phones. Well worry not. I'll teach you the best way to hide your files. Just follow these simply steps:

- On your phone (Phone or Memory Card) add "New Folder" and name it "Tones".
- Move those files you want to hide into that folder.
- Hide the folder "Tones" with "BlueFTP" (Don't know how to hide files with "BlueFTP"? Check other posts in my blog

And that's all! Check your "My Music" menu and you won't even see the traces again.

NOTE: Sometimes when you might have hidden those files and you check your "Music" menu, you still see those files you have hidden there but only that they will be in black and unviewable. Do not panick. All you have to do is just "Update Music Library" and that's all. The names of the hidden files will be removed.

EASIEST WAY TO EDIT JAVA APPS ON JAVA PHONES: THE POWER OF MINI COMMANDER

Sometimes when we download .jar files, we want to edit the application manifest like changing the application name, inserting some sort of codes and all those kinda things. But the problem is I've watched so many people suffer, going through long processes just because they want to edit the"MANIFEST.MF" file of the application(s). Processes like extracting all the internal files (that's after they might have renamed the raw _jar file to .zip) using "BlueFTP", then close "BlueFTP", then open "Class Editor", now searches for the "MANIFEST.MF" file where they might have extracted it, then opening the file, editing the file, after then close "Class Editor" and re-open "BlueFTP" again to compress the files back into _jar format... I mean why should you go through such long processes when you could just do everything with "Mini Commander"? Yes, I meant everything.

If it were to be a system, you could just easily drag the "MANIFEST.MF" file from the .zip archive to notepad, edit the file and then drag back into the zip archive. But we are talking about java phones here. So I'm going to teach you simple steps on how to edit your .zip archives with Mini Commander (without even having to extract any file).

STEP 1: This step should be known by now by everyone who modifys applications. Which is, renaming the raw _jar file into .zip. (Don't know how to do that? Check other topics in my blog)

STEP 2: - Open your "Mini Commander"
- Press the "Right Soft Key" to show "Menu"
- From the "Menu" select "Options"
- From "Options" select "File Types"
- In "File Types" you'll see three editable categories: "Zip", "Text" and "Videos"
- Select "Text" and then add "mf"
- Save and then open the .zip file you want to edit all the way into "MANIFEST.MF" file.

And there you go. Just begin to add and/or edit whatever you want to change in the "MANIFEST.MF" file.

NOTE: Once you begin to edit the file, if you press the "Center" button to stop editing, it won't stop. It will take you back into the editor window. So if you want to scroll up/down to edit more texts, just press and hold the "Center" key and then scroll simultaneously with "up/down/left/right" direction keys. And if you want to save, press and hold the "Center Key" and then press the "LSK (Left Soft Key)" to display a pop-up confirmation "Yes" or "No" to save. But release the "Center Key" first before you click "Yes". And be careful so as not to corrupt the file

WHY I MARRIED A FOREIGN MAN – ACTRESS/SINGER ASHIONYE MICHELLE UGBOH

It is no more a new happening amongst the female Nollywood artistes to reach across the border for their life partners. Actress Ashionye Ugbo-Racca, who is married to a white man in a recent interview spoke about her decision to marry her friend of 11 years.

What Would You Say Marriage Has Done For You?

Marriage has matured me. As a single woman, there were certain things I did that I can’t do now. Marriage and the birth of my child has made me a lot more patient and matured person. I am a woman now. There are some things that I look at now as a wife and a mother, and I ignore. But back then, I wasn’t matured enough and I thought I was. I have been matured for over three years now.

How Did You Meet Your Husband?

I met my husband in 2001, we have known each other for over 11years. We met here, in Lagos.

Is It A New Trend Where Nollywood Stars Are Falling For The ‘Oyinbos’?

This is not about going for the “Oyinbos” or the ‘Oyinbos’ coming for us. It’s about the relationship. It’s not a matter of whether your husband is black or white. It depends on the relationship you have built over the years with him. It depends on a lot of of things. And by the way, how many Nollywod actresses are married to the Oyinbos? I don’t see colour as an individual in marriage. My husband doesn’t see colour either. I believe that the actresses that you are referring to, and their husbands don’t see colour too. That’s why they decided to marry. The world is one colour to me, but don’t ask me which colour. You might see my husband as a white man, but I don’t see him that way. After all, my husband was born in Kano and he speaks Hausa fluently. He is a Nigerian as much as you are a Nigerian too. So, I don’t see colour in our marriage.

What Was The Reaction Of Your Parents When You Introduced Him To Them?

There was no opposition. My dad knew I have been in a relationship with him for a while. So, there was no reason for him to oppose the marriage. He was very happy to welcome another son-in-law into our family. The relationship between my husband and my father was fantastic.

Now That You Are Back In Nollywood, Has The Scripts Started Flying Into Your Hands?

I have gotten some offers for movies that will be shot early next year. And I have accepted to star in those movies. There are two movies at the moment.
